Taco Bell is offering all Americans a free taco if one of the players in the World Series steals a base. It's the "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion. It didn't take long for the promotion to pay off. In the first inning of game one, Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor stole 2nd base to earn tacos for the nation.

Here's the scoop on the promotion:

If one of the Cleveland Indians or Chicago Cubs steals a base in Game 1 or Game 2 of the series, you can stop by any Taco Bell restaurant to get a free taco on November 2nd. But if a base isn't stolen until game 3 or later, the free taco will be handed out on November 10.

Marisa Thalberg, chief marketing officer for Taco Bell says the player who steals the base will be known as this year’s “Taco Hero.”

It’s an accolade specific to those athletes whose stolen base feat during the World Series has earned them a hallowed place in the hearts of taco lovers across the country. … We look forward to rooting along with the country in the hopes that a player will manage to ‘steal’ another free taco for America and we will be able to induct a brand new ‘Taco Hero.

Here's everything you need to know about the World Series matchup between the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs.
