In shocking news, G.R.L. member and former "The X Factor" contestant, Simone Battle passed away at the age of 25.

Simone Battle is known for her stint on the U.S. version of "The X Factor" and for being a member of the all-girl group, G.R.L. According to E! News, he news of her death was confirmed today by "the management and record companies and founder of the female pop group on Saturday, September 6."

The cause of her death has not been revealed at this time.

Battle competed on the debut season of "The X Factor" in the U.S. back in 2011. A few years later she joined the group G.R.L. with Paula Van Oppen, Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada and Natasha Slayton. G.R.L. was founded by Antin, who also founded the Pussycat Dolls.

G.R.L. had just released a single, "Ugly Heart" in June.
