With just a few months to go until Geek'd Con once again takes over the convention center in downtown Shreveport, it's safe to say the Force is strong with this convention.

They've already announced HUGE guests such as Lou Ferrigno, Joey Fatone, Jim Cummings, and THE PINK FREAKIN' POWER RANGER. Now, their tapping into the Star Wars franchise for guests from a galaxy far, far away.

The first Star Wars guest the popular convention announced was David Acord. The name might not ring many bells but for those unaware, he plays what I call the most popular stormtrooper of all time. He was stormtrooper FN-2199 (Nines) in the Force Awakens, and since the movie released his stormtrooper is the one you see in all of the memes and videos around the internet. Previously, Acord provided the voice of the GH-7 medical droid in Revenge of the Sith, who was responsible for the epic reveal that Padmé was having twins...who would turnout to be Luke and Leia. In addition to his acting roles with Star Wars, Acord works for Skywalker Sound, where he received an Oscar nomination for his work on The Force Awakens.

Next we have the second announcement, and boy is this a biggie. Geek'd Con announced last night that they will be bringing in General Grievous himself, Mattew Wood. Wood's tenure as General Grievous started in the film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, and had continued through the film's video game, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, and the video game Star Wars: Battlefront II. Grievous is one of the longest running villains in the Star Wars franchise, though only appearing in one movie, he's appeared in multiple video games (including an Angry Birds game), cartoons, and literature. He is one of the strongest non-Sith villains in the franchise.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to meet Matthew Wood, along with other Star Wars guest, David Acord, at Geek'd Con this August!
