Geek’d Con Brings Pro Wrestling To Shreveport

Last year, Geek'd Con became one of the biggest events in the Shreveport/Bossier area, drawing over 10,000 into the Shreveport Convention Center over 3 days in August. This year, Geek'd Con is working a lineup that already includes Comic Book Legend George Perez and Pop Culture Star and Sharknado Icon Tara Ried.

Over this past weekend, while everyone was drunk on Wrestlemania, Geek'd Con dropped two pro wrestling guest announcements that are HUGE for pro wrestling fans in the Ark-La-Tex!

First, early on Saturday, Geek'd Con's Facebook page lit up with the announcement that former WWE NXT Diva, and current Lucha Undgerground star Catrina would be appearing:

While in NXT, she went by Maxine, then on the indies, she used her real name Karlee Perez, and most recently in Lucha Underground she has achieved her highest level of fame as Catrina.

After the Lucha Underground announcement, Geek'd Con's page was plastered with images of 90s wrestling icon Sean Waltman...better known as X-Pac

Waltman is the only 90s wrestling icon who was a member of the two largest factions in pro wrestling history. He was the 6th member of nWO in WCW under the ring name Syxx, then he rejoined his friend Triple HHH on the WWF side as the first addition to the DX Army.

This is all after he gained notoriety as the 1-2-3 Kid (or ultimately The Kid, or Kid) a member of the Kliq. Which was a behind-the-scenes crew that essentially ran WWF for most of the mid-90s.

There's no doubt in my mind that Waltman is a WWE Hall Of Famer in waiting. Perhaps the first 3-time Hall of Famer in the future. As a member of both nWo, DX, and as an individual.
