Ginger Can Finally Talk About Her Crown

I am not good with secrets. I never have been, so this has been very hard for me to keep to myself. A few months ago I was asked to be apart of royalty for the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux. Not only am I member of the krewe, but now I am a Duchess!

My full title is Duchess of Furry Friends. The past few years I had what some would call "crown envy". When I would go and emcee some mardi gras events I would notice all of these intricate and gorgeous crowns, and I was completely smitten.

I am very appreciative of the opportunity to represent the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux and all it stands for. Getting to surround myself with people who love and care about animals like I do is a dream. I am so lucky to be apart of a krewe that does so much good with their programs that benefit the animals right here in the Shreveport/ Bossier City area like the feral cat program and  the programs that help homeless and abused animals, just to name a few. I can't wait for what this year holds.
