According to reports, Chief Master Sgt. Thomas B. Mazzone, the Command Chief for Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base, has been removed from his position due to an "inappropriate relationship".

In a story from Military.com, Chief Master Sgt. Mazzone was removed from his position last week, due to concerns over a relationship at his previous post. A report was released from the Air Force, that included details from a "command-directed" investigation, the release said:

"Based on the results of the investigation, the AFGSC commander, Gen. Timothy Ray, issued Chief Master Sgt. Mazzone appropriate administrative actions and removed him from the command chief position,"

The reports suggest that the relationship in question did no occur while Chief Master Sgt. Mazzone was at Barksdale, but rather at his previous post. Prior to his time at Barksdale, Mazzone served as the Command Chief of Air Force District of Washington at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. He served there for a short period, between April of 2016 and December of 2017.

Military.com also reports that this was the second major dismissal inside Global Strike Command since November. Including the removal of Lt. Col. Paul Goossen, who lost his position because "penis drawings were discovered on B-52 Stratofortress cockpit device screens during his unit's deployment."

The report also indicates that Chief Master Sgt. Mazzone has ultimately been reassigned within Global Strike Command, and is now "awaiting retirement".
