Governor John Bel Edwards says all state agencies are engaged in helping with the recovery from the weekend storms. Edwards addresses residents across the state:

Two deaths have been reported in the Breaux Bridge area as a result of straight line winds.

Governor Edwards urges motorists off the roads if you do not have to be out there. He says the risk of severe weather is not over and we could face more problems as this system moves across the state. Edwards says two tornadoes have been confirmed in Rapides Parish and many other parishes have seen 70-80 mph wind speeds with this storm.
