GRAMMY Spotlight Shines Bright on Louisiana

We all know the depths and diversity of Louisiana's musical culture and history. Doesn't matter if you're talking Shreveport, New Orleans or anywhere in between, Louisiana has got the musical universe covered. And last night, the GRAMMY spotlight was burning bright over the Bayou State.

12 Louisiana Natives were nominated for GRAMMY awards this year, including several Shreveporters. While, sadly, no Shreveporter was able to bring home any hardware, it's still a pretty big deal to even be nominated.

With that being said, we did have several Louisiana natives win. Lauren Daigle from Lafayette won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album and best Christian Music Song. Buddy Guy, from Lettsworth, won for Best Traditional Blues Album. PJ Morton, New Orleans, won for Best Traditional R&B Performance. And Terrance Blanchard, New Orleans, won for Best Instrumental Composition.
