On August 6, 1945, in the air above Hiroshima Japan - a historic plane commanded the skies.  The sole purpose of it's mission was to end Word War II.  It dropped an atomic bomb nicknamed "Little Boy" and completed it's work with flying colors - forever changing the world.  The man at the helm of that legendary plane was Brigadier General Paul Tibbets Jr..

It seems as if aviation and leadership runs in the Tibbets family.  According to KTBS, the grandson of the aforementioned Enola Gay pilot - Brigadier General Paul Tibbets IV has been promoted to vice commander of Air Force Global Strike Command headquarters at Barksdale Air Force Base.  The latest iteration of Brigadier General Paul Tibbets was the commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri until this promotion brought him to our fair city.

Make sure you make him and his family feel welcome.
