‘Grease: Live’ Salutes Vanessa Hudgens’ Late Father
If you stuck around to the very end of Sunday's presentation of Grease: Live, you may have happened to catch a very special tribute.
As the closing credits rolled, a graphic was shown which read, "In loving memory of Greg Hudgens. June 22, 1950 – January 30, 2016."
Greg Hudgens is the father of Grease: Live's Vanessa Hudgens, who announced his death on Twitter Sunday morning.
"I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers," she wrote. "Tonight, I do the show in his honor."
Hudgens played Rizzo on the show and performed her character's signature songs "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" and "There Are Worse Things I Could Do".
