A small single-engine plane piloted by actor Harrison Ford crash-landed on a golf course in Venice, CA, near Santa Monica Airport, authorities report.

L.A. Fire Department spokesperson Erik Scott told E! News that Ford was treated at the scene of the crash and transferred to a nearby hospital, and a Santa Monica Fire Department official said that his injuries, including a head laceration and a broken leg, did not appear to be life-threatening.

Ford's son Ben later tweeted, "At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man."

Ford, a longtime pilot, is licensed to privately fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, and is said to keep planes at both the Santa Monica Airport and at his ranch in Jackson, WY.
