Man alive! I'm loving this for the Haughton Softball girls! They're working on a 3-peat undefeated District Championship. Of course, they have to get by Benton on Tuesday first, but we're holding out hope! They had a great picture of Emma Polson in the Shreveport Times today and I wish I could use it but then I'd have to pay for it, and well, I'm cheap;) Seriously, senior Kay Lynne Martin is doing it to it.  Either way, congrats to Coach Harlan and Coach Shanks and the entire Haughton Softball team! You've worked hard and deserve it! Here's what the Times had to say about last night's game:

Kay Lynne Martin picked the perfect time to notch her 20th victory of the season. The talented senior pitcher allowed just five hits Thursday afternoon to lead Haughton to a 10-2 win over the Lady Panthers at Parkway, wrapping up the District 2-4A title for the Lady Bucs in the process.

Shyanne McDowell, Colbi Keeter and Michelle Lane all collected two hits — with McDowell and Keeter accounting for a double each — in support of Martin (20-4) as the Lady Bucs scored three runs in each of the first two innings and iced the game with four in the sixth. Haughton improves to 21-5 overall and remains flawless in district at 7-0.

Jessica Randle got two of Parkway's four hits as the Lady Panthers fell to 14-12 and 4-2.

I also have to include this from the Times since I just love Emily Trice at Byrd. She's helped us out here as a member of our street team for K945!

Byrd 10, Southwood 0: Emily Trice pitched brilliantly, giving up just four hits while striking out seven over six innings to lead the Lady Jackets to a District 1-5A thumping of the Lady Cowboys at Byrd.
