Thanksgiving is a time to gather with family and friends and give thanks for the blessings we've received throughout the year.  Many in the Shreveport/Bossier community will not have the means to provide food for their families at Thanksgiving.  The Salvation Army will be there for families in need again this year by serving their annual Thanksgiving dinner.

This year's annual Salvation Army holiday meal will be served on Thursday, November 23rd, from 10:30am – 1:00pm in the Corps Community Center at 200 East Stoner Avenue in Shreveport.  Local volunteers and staff members at The Salvation Army Corps are preparing to serve hundreds of those in need, and the Corps has a need of its own.

Operation Barbeque Relief is providing all the turkeys for the dinner, and area businesses and volunteers are providing fixings, but the Corps is in need of store-bought dessert items such as cakes, pies and cookies.  If you'd like to donate a dessert,  drop it by the Salvation Army on Stoner Avenue weekdays from 9:00am -4:00pm now through November 21st.
