Every now and then, my family decides to eat out on Thanksgiving Day, rather than do all that cooking. It's so much easier and actually much cheaper.

If you don't feel like cooking for Thanksgiving, here are a few local restaurants that will be open to serve your holiday meal.

You can find a traditional Thanksgiving meal at Copelands on Bert Kouns beginning at 10am. It will be crowded, so expect to wait a little while. The price tag for the Copelands buffett is $25.99

Ralph and Kacoo's in Bossier City will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 11am-4pm and will have a the regular menu and a special Thanksgiving meal for $15.99. They are taking reservations at 747-6660.

Golden Corral will be open from 10am-8pm on Thanksgiving Day. You will find all the traditional food items like turkey and dressing for $13.99/person.

Another spot to take the family is Cracker Barrel on Westport. The national chain will begin serving Thanksgiving meals at 11am. It will cost you $10.99/person. This will include turkey, dressing, veggies and all the other holiday trimmings.

Saltgrass Steakhouse at the Boardwalk in Bossier City is open for Thanksgiving featuring a menu with Certified Angus Beef brand steaks, seafood and much more. You probably should ahead to make a reseveration. (318) 742-8787.

For a little more elegant dining out experience, you might want to check out Bella Fresca on Line Avenue. You do need to have reservations. Call 865-6307 to reserve one of 2 seating times, 11am or 1pm.

All of the local local casinos will also be serving Thanksgiving Day meals, but expect these restaurants to be crowded, too.
