One of my fondest memories of Holiday in Dixie was during my sophomore year of high school at Haughton High. I had been invited to the Airline prom and for some reason I thought that made me extra cool or something! The dance was at the University Club, high atop the American Tower in downtown Shreveport. I remember it vividly because we were able to look down on the riverfront and all of the pretty carnival lights during Holiday in Dixie! Holiday in Dixie celebrates the Louisiana Purchase and was first held in 1949! Check out all the festival has to offer you this year, from the parade this Saturday to the new BBQ cook off April 19th and 20th! We're lucky to have so many fabulous festivals in our area... BTW, my don't miss event pick for the festival is the Matthew Davidson Band tomorrow night from 8:30-10:30! Don't forget to look for the treasure in the Holiday in Dixie Treasure Hunt! It's worth $1,500!
