WOW! It was a crazy busy weekend but yesterday my sweet hubby and I got the chance to play in the Horseshoe's World Series of Poker Charity game. The winner received $5,000 for the charity of their choice and sadly, due to a boneheaded move on my part, I was knocked out of the game by Ed Walsh from KTBS. Keith didn't fare any better but in the end, there were some very happy charities as the five final players decided to split the pot and give each of their charities $1,000. The recipients were the Krewe of Centaur, the Philadelphia Center, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Service Over Self.

The Horseshoe has big plans underway for their first ever WSOP Circuit event to come to Bossier City September 8th-19th. This event will be the first of 16 stops across the country. It will (of course) be legendary!

Big congrats to the Horseshoe for landing this opportunity and also a big thanks to them for contributing to local charities!!! It was big fun! And even thought I didn't 'win' (I def didn't have any illusions about this) it was a big win for our community!
