I don't know about you, but every time I roll down I-20, I wonder where all the federal dollars are to fix our roadways and infrastructure. Ironically, it turns out that Louisiana is the 4th most dependent state on federal funds... additionally, we rank 37th when it comes to paying in to the federal coffers.

According to WalletHub.com, Louisiana ranks 2nd when it comes to federal funding as a percentage of state revenue. In short, we bring in more from the federal government financially than we pay out. Personally, I hate to think we're relying on others to pay our way, but with the current state budget crisis, it's not surprising. I can't imagine other states are happy to be subsidizing others. Our neighbors aren't doing very well either. Mississippi is the most federally dependent state in the country with Arkansas and Texas coming in at 27 and 29th respectively.
