In its first week, Jay-Z's new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" has sold more than 500,000 units.

The album, which was officially released July 7, will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with sales of 527,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. But it was no match for Justin Timberlake's first-week sales of "The 20/20 Experience", which sold 960,000 copies when it was released back in March.

Billboard is not counting the 1.2 million copies of "Magna Carta" Samsung bought and gave to users of their Galaxy mobile phones.
