Late last year this video circulated Facebook and other forms of social media, but became news in August when the law was signed by Governor Bruce Rauner. This new law is supposed to take effect the first of the year, according to Northwest Herald.

This law requires hair stylists to take an hour long course in abuse and sexual assault education once every two years.

House Bill 4264 amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair Braiding and Nail Technology Act of 1985.

"We get very close with our clients, even so far to say we love our clients. You know people through life's ups and downs. When people come into a safe environment like a beauty salon, they tend to open up."- Karen Gordon, owner of J. Gordon Designs salon in Chicago told NBC.
