Forget Red River, we pretty much live along the Red Lake.

I used to love the rain. I used to sit out on the porch and play dominoes with my dad while the drops serenaded us. The gentle rumble of the thunder, maybe an occasional flash of light. It was relaxing and allowed me to share in some wonderful memory-making with my dad.

Now, I hate it.

Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but seriously. It has rained every day for like the last month (again, exaggeration). Yesterday the sun came out for a hot minute and it was like an anthill had been kicked. There were people everywhere pouring out of houses just trying to get a slice of the sunshine.

Not only is this delaying my summer tan, but it's starting to become a threat. There is so much water falling from the sky that the Red River has spilled over its limit. This video was taken along Arthur Ray Teague in Bossier. The tree line is a pretty good indicator of where the river should stop. As you can see, it has exceeded that line. The funny thing is that people were wading out into it. I know that an overflowing river leaves more chance to stumble upon some lost treasure, but one misstep and you could be swept away.

Stay safe out there people and let's try to come up with a "sun dance."
