American Authors has taken the music scene by storm with an anthem of positivity. Crushing on this band has made this Monday the best day of our lives.

American Authors was born when four friends met at Berklee College of Music in 2007. Zac Barnett on lead vocals and guitar, James Adam Shelley on lead guitar and banjo, Dave Rublin on bass, and Matt Sanchez on drums.

Performing under their original name, The Blue Pages, the band spent their first few years recording and performing in Boston, Massachusetts. In those three years they recorded the albums Anthropology and Rich With Love. In 2010, The Blue Pages relocated to Brooklyn, New York.

Two years later, the band renamed themselves American Authors and released their debut single "Believer." The song did particularly well in the alternative rock world. The second single, "Best Day of My Life" fared much better across the entire music scene. The song was featured on many media platforms including a commercial for Lowe's, in the opening for ESPN's 2013 World Series of Poker, and the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."

In January 2013, American Authors signed with Mercury Records.

Their self-titled debut EP was released in August 2013 with their first two singles and another song called "Hit It." The latter was featured on the FIFA 14 video game. Most recently, American Authors performed at the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
