For over four years now, we've been without hockey in the ArkLaTex. That changes in September of 2016.

The Shreveport Mudbugs will hit the ice at the renovated Hirsch Coliseum, playing in the North American Hockey League.

Folks, this is huge. For those with a pulse, alive in Shreveport within the last 20 years, you know what Mudbugs hockey means to our area.

I was lucky enough to be int he press conference this morning and can honestly say I received chill-bumps when the official announcement was made. Check it out!

Not only will hockey be back, but the Hirsch will soon be used for many other ice-related activities. Public skating, birthday parties, figure skating, and youth hockey will take place there.

The rink will be called 'George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum', a nod to late Junior Mudbugs goalie, George Cloutier.

Now is the time to celebrate, but also support. You can purchase your season tickets right now by clicking HERE.
