Well, if James Franco and Seth Rogen couldn’t make an ‘80s teen series work out, they might have better luck in the ‘90s. We’ll find out, as the Pineapple Express pair are teaming with Hulu and screenwriter/media personality Kelly Oxford for a new ‘90s teen drama.

According to Variety, Franco and Rogen will executive produce the as-yet-untitled hour-long project, alongside Rogen’s frequent partner Evan Goldberg, and Franco’s producing partner Vince Jolivette. The project is currently described as “a teen show set in the 1990’s,” though no more detailed than that.

The series marks Rogen and Goldberg’s latest Hulu project after Josh Hutcherson’s Future Man, and Rogen’s first TV collaboration with Franco. The duo have a rich history of film projects, including This Is the End and The Interview, along with Franco’s upcoming The Disaster Artist. Oxford rose to notoriety from her Twitter presence, and has since sold scripts to CBS and NBC, as well as written New York Times best-seller Everything Is Perfect When You’re a Liar.

We’ll go ahead and get the requisite “Freaks and Geeks, ‘90s Style” joke out of the way, but stay tuned for more on the upcoming Hulu project in the meantime.
