In case you haven't noticed (and apparently a lot of you haven't), Jay Z has made a slight change to his name...by dropping the hyphen.

This story was first broken by Billboard editor Joe Levy, who tweeted, "Breaking: Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note."

Hov apparently made the change years ago, but few people took notice until just now, including his record label, which has him listed as Jay-Z on the cover of his 2009 album "The Blueprint 3", but nowhere else on the record.

Good thing he did it, 'cause hyphens take up so much space.
