The Roc is still in the building! Jay-Z‘s clothing line Rocawear has secured a sponsorship with the 27-time World Series Champions the New York Yankees. According to Roc 4 Life, the partnership will include having the Rocawear logo branded inside Yankee stadium during the 2012 season.

Hov is a longtime Yankees devotee, so this deal is a win-win situation for him and his clothing brand.

“Jay-Z has been a longtime fan of the Yankees, regularly attends games and has even included his favorite team in song lyrics, so this was a natural partnership,” says Jameel Spencer, EVP Marketing, men’s division, Iconix Brand Group, Inc. “Rocawear, along with Jay-Z are very excited to be working with the Yankees for the 2012 season. We feel another championship in ’12!”

Jay-Z has been on a mission to keep Rocawear financially afloat since the company’s saw profits decreased near $500 million in 2011. Early this year, the company had to endure major layoffs for “economic” reasons.

Recently, Jay-Z released Rocawear’s first-ever television commercial called ‘From Marcy to Barclays.’ The 30-second clip features images of Jay’s hometown of Brooklyn, as well as Rocawear clothes and the Barclay Center. “Wherever you grow up, it’s your root, and I’m a kid from the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn,” Hov says in the beginning of the ad. “I wanted to show that artists can ascend to the executive ranks. Rocawear just keeps reinventing itself and redefining itself every single day.”

Congrats Jay-Z on your Yankees partnership. It looks like a home run to us.
