Nashville's Joshua Lyon, the young man at the center of the downtown Shreveport New Year's Eve video talks about his confrontation with the SPD.

Lyon says that, after witnessing SPD officers pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, "I made a passing comment to the person I was walking with that I thought it was interesting that (there were) four or five units stopping someone...on New Year's Eve." Lyon claims that one of the officers heard the comment "and didn't like it." Lyon then says, "he started to walk towards me as I was walking down the sidewalk." Lyon says he and his companion walked to the end of the block where the policeman, at that point joined by others, confronted him about his remark.

The heated back and forth between Lyon and the officer ended with him being tackled and tased by SPD, Lyon was later charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and interfering with an officer.

SPD Chief Ben Raymond said that, after reviewing the video, "it did not appear there were any violations" by the arresting officers.
