Two of Canada’s biggest musical exports, Justin Bieber and Drake, are once again among the leading nominees for the 2012 Juno Awards, which celebrate the best music created by artists from our neighbor to the north.

Bieber, who took home the Juno Fan Choice Award and Best Pop Album last year, is a contender for the Fan Choice Award again and for Album of the Year for his holiday album ‘Under the Mistletoe.’ Drake, who hosted the ceremony in 2011, is up for four trophies this time around, including Fan Choice, Best Rap Recording, Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year for ‘Take Care.’

Matching up against Bieber and Drake in the highly-competitive Album of the Year category will be Michael Buble‘s ‘Christmas,’ Avril Lavigne‘s ‘Goodbye Lullaby,’ and Nickelback‘s ‘Here and Now.’

The lone award for non-Canadians, Best International Album, pits Adele against Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Rihanna and Coldplay. Other top nominees among the Junos’ 41 categories are Feist, deadmau5, Martin Solveig, Duck Sauce, and last year’s big winners, Arcade Fire.

The 2012 Juno Awards take place on April Fools’ Day in Ottawa. This year’s host is none other than former ‘Star Trek’ captain and sometimes-singer William Shatner.
