Did Justin Bieber's recent arrest in Canada violate his two-year probation in the egging case? That's what law enforcement officials are trying to determine, TMZ reports.

According to the site, an investigation has now been launched to see if Bieber's arrest for dangerous driving and assault has triggered a violation in his probation. TMZ reports that probation officers have 30 days to tell the court if Bieber has violated his probation -- and then the court will decide if he will serve jail time or not. Yikes.

The 20-year-old singer was arrested in Canada on Friday, Aug. 29, after getting into a car accident with paparazzi (Bieber was riding his ATV, while photographers were in a minivan). After the incident, Bieber and a paparazzo engaged in a physical altercation.

In July, the pop star accepted a plea deal in his egging case. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor vandalism and was placed on two years of probation, as well as 12 weeks of anger management classes and five days of hard labor.

Bieber and his on-again lady love Selena Gomez were enjoying a weekend in the singer's hometown when he was arrested (most likely with Gomez present, as the two were photographed riding the ATV that same day). At the time, the Biebs' lawyer said that both Bieber and Gomez were participating in the police investigation.
