Kanye West hasn’t been in the news as of late (which could be considered a good thing), but a story has popped up on Monday (Jan. 8) about his recent act of kindness to a cancer patient.

On Jan. 3, a woman shared on Twitter that Yeezy obliged a young cancer patient’s request to meet him. So, he called the girl up and rapped for her on the phone. Sadly, she died several days later.

The incident was kept very private until someone mentioned it on their timeline. The Kanye West fan website TeamKanyeDaily noticed the tweet and brought attention to the story via Twitter on Sunday evening (Jann. 7).

West's wife, Kim Kardashian, acknowledged the interaction with her tweet: "We are praying for her family."

This isn't West's first human act of kindness. In July 2016, the rapper producer gifted a fan named Tyler Wesley with a free pair of custom Yeezys after learning he was paralyzed in a bad car accident, reported XXL.

In a handwritten note West wrote, "You are an inspiration. You show the world anyting is possible. Thank you for sharing your journey."
