Kanye West dropped his new Ye album on Friday (June 1), but had he dropped the project a couple months prior we would have gotten a totally different LP.

Yeezy put on a huge listening session for journalists, tastemakers and entertainers in Wyoming on Thursday (May 31), which was attended by 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi, Fabolous, DJ Clue, Theophilus London, CyHi The Prynce, Lil Yachty, Nas, Ty Dolla $ign, Dame Dash and actors Chris Rock, Jonah Hill and more. At the bonfire debut, Kanye sat down with Big Boy in an interview published on Saturday (June 2). During the talk, 'Ye opened up about the new project, specifically how the drama that took place leading up to the album changed its outcome.

"I completely redid the album after TMZ and sat there and really honed in on the words," he relayed to Big Boy. "Cause also we know now, it's all headlines. Every bar can be used. It's even bars that we had about [the slavery being a choice comments], I took them all off the album. It was just too sensitive to talk about that topic and stuff. I was like, 'Yo, Ima just chill right now. Let's just keep making some music.'"

He added, "I feel like as a son and as a family member of the world, that's the reason the world wont let me go 'cause I'm just a family member. They might not agree with me on certain shit, but I'm their family, I been here for 15 years, 18 years. I feel like the best thing I can do is go in the studio and keep chopping that thing that only I know how to do."
