Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan are going to need more than an extra shot of espresso to survive the mornings ahead.

Ripa, who's been hosting talk show Live since 2000 (Strahan joined her as co-host in 2012), didn't show up to taping today (April 20) after news circulated that Strahan is leaving the show to join Good Morning America. According to TMZ, Ripa is furious — not about Strahan's move, but the fact that he gave her no prior notification — and couldn't stomach the fact that she'd been "stabbed in the back."

TMZ also alleges that Ripa and Strahan haven't gotten along lately, and that she finds him to be condescending and arrogant. "Apparently Michael often rolls with an entourage and it doesn't sit well with her," the site alleges.

This morning, beside last-minute replacement co-host Ana Gasteyer, Strahan confirmed his GMA-move, and tried to make sense of the barrage of encompassing press.

"I was reading some stuff and it sounded like I died," he said on the episode. "But I do want to say to all of our viewers out there, everybody who's watched this show over the last four years...thank you guys. Can't ask for better fans at all."

"I consider myself to be a part of this family forever," he concluded.

Strahan did acknowledge Ripa later in the show, too, noting "I've learned so much from her and she's just been an amazing influence on me, and this has truly changed my life to be here with her. I know that the show will continue to be strong because of Kelly."

Strahan will officially join GMA in September.
