Kidd’s Kids Applications Are Here!

Kidd’s Kids, a program of the Kraddick Foundation – a 501-(c)(3) organization, will begin accepting applications from families with terminally/chronically ill or physically challenged children for the annual, all expense paid trip to Walt Disney World® in Orlando, FL. Applications will be released Wednesday, June 1, 2011 and accepted through Friday, August 5, 2011.

Kidd’s Kids was founded in 1991 by nationally syndicated radio personality Kidd Kraddick and was developed on the premise of making a difference in the lives of children with special medical needs. During the five-day trip, which takes place in November, Kidd’s Kids and their families enjoy all the excitement that a Walt Disney World getaway can offer. Children selected for the Kidd’s Kids trip are between the ages of 5-12, suffer from a chronic or terminal illness and/or are physically challenged or have an impairment due to an injury or accident. The children selected for the Kidd’s Kids trip must also demonstrate a financial need and reside in one of the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio listening areas.

“We would really like to get the word out to qualified children so we can offer them this memorable trip of a lifetime”, says Kidd Kraddick of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. Kidd’s morning show is syndicated in over 80 markets with 106.1 KISS FM (KHKS) in Dallas as their flagship station.

For many families with terminally ill or physically challenged children, this is a rare opportunity to get outside of the hospital and treatment centers and share laughter and fun in a magical environment. Over the years, 769 children and their families have attended the Kidd’s Kids trip, totaling over 3,000 people.

Kidd’s Kids covers all expenses, which includes: airfare, hotel, park passes, meals, transportation, spending money and souvenirs. Most of the funding comes from donations made by listeners of the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show, corporate partners and various fundraising events. The kids are also treated to a special breakfast featuring appearances by Disney® characters and two live broadcasts with the crew of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning.
