Sometimes you just need something like this to remind you of what's important in life.

I had to share this story with you because it's so powerful. Recently Good Morning America put the spotlight on a photographer in Rhode Island who is taking photos of kids undergoing treatment for cancer. The kids in the photographs are dressed up as their favorite characters, be it super heroes or princesses.

And she's doing it for free.

This touches me in two ways. For one, these kids spend so much of their life fighting for their lives. For them to be able to get out of that mentality for a few hours is incredible. In a way, they are becoming their own heroes and that's powerful. What I also love about this story is that this photographer is using her talents to make these dreams come true for these kids.

Sometimes I think we get caught up in the idea that in order to help others, we have to give money. While financial donations are extremely beneficial, finding something as simple as your profession/hobby/interest and using it to bless someone else is beautiful. For kids battling these illnesses, the photo packages are free. For anyone else interested in a package, they can purchase one and 50 percent of the profits go toward various medical funds.

Check out these beautiful kids:
