Suzy Ryan, wife of Larry Ryan and local Mardi Gras legend, passed away on Wednesday, August 14.

Suzy has contributed to 710 KEEL and 96.5 KVKI in the past. Her daughter Casey and son Cory both work with us at Townsquare Media Shreveport. From the entire team here, we extend our deepest condolences for their loss. We mourn with you.

Suzy's husband, Larry, announced the sad news on his Facebook page early Wednesday morning:

Suzy died this morning at 3:03 this morning. I know that she is in a much better place. I was with her to the last breath and she knew it was time to rest.

According to Ryan, a memorial service for Suzy will be held Monday, August 19 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 3200 Airline Drive Bossier City, LA 71111. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. Celebration of her life will begin at 6 p.m.

Suzy's former Mardi Gras crew, the Krewe of Centaur, paid tribute to her memory, saying: "Centaur will carry on Suzy's vision and dreams. She's already prepping heaven's Centaur Mardi Gras parade with those who left us before her to be the best one yet. Centaur's monthly membership meeting is being postponed till Monday August 26th, at it's normal meeting time."

The Krewe also encouraged its members to wear "second line/trash jackets" to her event, adding "All Hail Suzy!"
