The Krewe of Centaur crowned new royalty this past Saturday night, and let me just say, it was an absolute party from start to finish.

For some strange reason, they chose me to help host the festivities and I had an absolute blast. It was a joy to work with my co-host for the event, Elizabeth Morales, and it was a night I won't soon forget!

For those unaware on how these things work, basically each Krewe has a specific royalty group selected by the members that represent the Krewe in our community through the year.

This year we said goodbye and job well done to our previous King, Queen, and Captain. Those wonderful people were Larry Ryan, Diane Ailett, and Randy James.

After we recognized those special three, it was time to welcome the Captain of the Krewe for the upcoming year, who is Susan Shofner.

We then introduced the incoming prince and princesses who are typically the youth representatives of the Krewe. The 2017 princesses are Cassidy Cason, Hailey Enloe, Elizabeth Zanca, Emilie Mudd, Mallorie Davis, The princes are Taylor Lee, Bobby Zanca, Brandon Walford, Christian Mudd, and Patrick Murphy.

Then we introduced the newest Dukes and Duchesses. The Duke and Duchess of Fun, Gladys Choyke and Jerry Kaczmarek, Duke and Duchess of Frolic, Maria Kovacs and Tim Huck, Duke and Duchess of Food, Theresa Miller and Chris Miller, and the Duke and Duchess of Fantasy, Bob Zahn and Cathy Zahn.

Finally, the ceremony culminated in the announcement of the new King and Queen. The King of the 2017 Krewe of Centaur is Eric Enkey. The Queen for this upcoming year is Jennifer Hammons.

My friend Marty Johnson was on hand to capture the event with his wonderful photography, here are some of his amazing pictures from the event. You can see his full gallery by clicking HERE!
