Get some miles in before celebrating Derby Day tomorrow.

I know that Derby Day is a chance to celebrate the Kentucky Derby, but it sounds like there will be no horses to bet on tomorrow, unless you want to count runners. It's a tradition to run five miles before celebrating the Kentucky Derby, right? It certainly is in Shreveport. This year, there's a new course and distance.

This will be a very challenging five miles.

The race will start at 8am in the Uptown Shopping Center and will run right through the Norton Art Gallery. It will end shortly after that, just a few blocks away. After the race there will be food, drinks and entertainment before the real party starts at 2 p.m. with Derby Day.

Prizes will be give to the top finishers in the men's and women's division as each will receive the Derby Day Trophy and $150. The runner up for each division will receive $50.

It's all presented by RCM Realty.
