The NFL Draft can be bittersweet watching our former Tigers take their skills to the next level.

The 2017 NFL Draft is here and we see not only the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new one. We watch our favorite college players take their talents to the professional level, their dreams finally becoming a reality.

For three LSU standouts, their names were called in the first round.

LSU running back Leonard Fournette decided to sit out the Tigers' bowl game this year to focus on the draft process. I'll admit that I was a tad worried when he didn't perform better that the combine, but the talent he possesses is inevitable. He earned himself a number four pick overall and will be headed to Jacksonville this season to play for the Jaguars.

According to the Shreveport Times, this is the highest selected running back for LSU since Jerry Stovall, a West Monroe native, in 1963.

Next we saw the Tigers' safety Jamal Adams picked as the number six overall selection. He will be headed to New York City this year to begin work with the Jets.

Finally, we saw Tre'Davious White, a Shreveport native and LSU cornerback, selected at number 27 overall. He will also be headed up north, to New York state, to play for the Buffalo Bills.
