Owner Carolyn Manning is competing for a trip to New York for a major food conference.

You don't have to live in Shreveport long before you hear about Carolyn Manning's delicious burgers at Blue Southern Comfort Foods. Now she's taking those juicy burgers and putting them to the test, literally.

Manning is one of two Louisiana residents and 200 chefs competing in the James Beard Foundation Better Burger Project. The contest is a social media contest. The five chefs who have the most pictures posted to Instagram using the hashtag #BetterBurgerProject will win a trip to New York City in October. Once there, they will create their burgers at the welcome reception for the James Beard Foundation's annual food conference.

If you want to help Carolyn, you better hurry! The competition ends tomorrow. Just stop by Blue Southern Comfort Foods at 1173 Louisiana Avenue, post a picture of your burger to Instagram, and use the hashtags #BlueSouthernComfortFood and #BetterBurgerProject.

I went earlier today. My burger lasted about 3.7 seconds before I wolfed it down. YUM!
