Lil Wayne's appearance in the new Apartments.com commercial that aired during the Super Bowl may have gotten a slew of headlines, but it's his latest move that should be getting the attention. Tunechi is teaming up with streaming service TIDAL to promote and reward community service among college students.

Beginning Friday (Feb. 5), any undergraduate college student at a four-year university can participate in TIDAL's Social Wave for Change. Students must post a photo or video on Instagram or Facebook of them completing any community service act. A panel of judges selected by TIDAL will review all social media submissions and determine the finalists. Once the finalists are announced, the public will vote on the winner.

Lil Wayne's relationship with TIDAL has spanned less than a year and was one of the last artists to come on board with the venture. However, he's been one of the company's biggest champions when it comes to spreading the streaming service's name. In the aftermath of his publicized rift with Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Cash Money Records over financial and creative disputes, Weezy signed on to become a minority owner of TIDAL in June of 2015. He subsequently dropped his Free Weezy album on the platform and also performed concerts that were live-streamed on TIDAL.

The move to work with TIDAL hasn't come without its fair share of controversy, including Birdman's $50 million lawsuit against Jay Z and the service. Birdman sued due to the release of the Free Weezy Album, calling it a “desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.”
