We all know that Lil Wayne is the ultimate entertainer. From music, video and tour, the versatile rapper can do it all. So for XXL magazine’s “Hip-Hop Live” issue, the Young Money leader graces the cover pictured where he’s the most comfortable at — onstage and holding the mic.

The magazine chats with Weezy about his tour regime, favorite show moments and his personal pre-show rituals before he hits the stage. The ‘How the Love’ rapper is the perfect subject to talk to when it comes to hip-hop tours. His I Am Music extravaganza was one of the biggest-grossing tours of 2011. The trek grossed $46 million in sales, according to Billboard.

Along with his road stories, Wayne will also discuss his new clothing line Truk fit and his DEWeezy campaign with Mountain Dew. His just-released “This is how we DEW” commercial features cameo appearances from Mac Miller and country superstar Jason Aldean.

The May 2012 issue also features complete highlights of the 2012 SXSW Music Festival, which saw a bevy of rap heavyweights performing, including Jay-Z, Kanye West, 2 Chainz and, of course, Lil Wayne.

XXL also tracked down the enigma of Odd Future MC Earl Sweatshirt who recently return to the group after a long sabbatical. Hopefully, Earl will shed more light on why he was absent from the California rap group during their initial wave of success.

Elsewhere, there are profiles on rappers Cee Lo, Diggy Simmons and B.o.B, who drops his new album ‘Strange Clouds’ via May 1.

XXL’s May 2012 issue will arrive via newsstands on April 24.
