National Night Out draws hundreds of local residents out in the neighborhoods to meet and greet and get to know each other. The goal of this fall event each year is to help curb crime.

Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler joined Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator, Caddo District Attorney James Stewart, Interim Police Chief Alan Crump, Fire Chief Scott Wolverton, U.S. Marshall Henry Whitehorn and many others to kick off the evening at AC Steere Park in Shreveport. They traveled to several parties across town after encouraging residents to let this night begin the process of getting to know their neighbors and being a nosy neighbor as a way to keep criminals out of our community.

Bossier leaders also fanned out across the area to attend dozens of block parties to send the same message.
