Lorde + Imagine Dragons Lead 2014 Billboard Music Award Finalists

What a year for Lorde! Not only did the 17-year-old Australia native burst onto the scene with her smash hit ‘Royals’ and her debut album, ‘Pure Heroine,’ but for the first time ever she is also up for a dozen Billboard Music Awards in a whopping 12 out of 40 categories.

Imagine Dragons are also contending for their first BBMA this year and are also finalists in 12 categories. They will duke it out directly with the Kiwi songstress in nine of those categories, including Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist,Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Album, just to name a few.

Justin Timberlake is nominated in 11 categories, while Miley Cyrus is nominated in eight. Both artists have multiple entries in certain categories, with Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’ and ‘The 20/20 Experience (2 out of 2) both being nominated for Top R&B Album. Cyrus has two nominations in the ‘Best Streaming Song (Video)’ category for her hits ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Wrecking Ball.’

Other artists nominated in multiple categories include Katy Perry, Beyonce, Robin Thicke, Pharrell and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
