Crawfish season is underway and, so far, it's looking pretty good.

This is my favorite season of the year... No, not football season. I'm talking crawfish season! And you know I know what I'm talking about since I'm the 2018 Mudbug Madness crawfish eating champ. I live for this stuff, so I was excited to see this good news for our state!

LSU Ag Center Aquaculture Specialist Greg Lutz has some good news crawfish fanatics: this year’s crop is looking A-OK. Granted, this won't be a "record-setting" year for our state, but I'll take good over bad any day.

Lutz says, "We’ve got everything we need so far. We had good survival over the summer for the adults, we had good reproduction in the fall, and we’ve got young crawfish out there.”

So get out and enjoy those heads and tails! Remember, anytime you're in the mood to rip 'em, check out THIS article for the latest in local pricing.
