A south Louisiana man allegedly set his girlfriend's house on fire.

Houma police and fire crews were called to the scene Thursday morning to find the home on fire.  The four people inside of the home made it to safety.

Houma Police Chief Todd Duplantis told the Louisiana Radio Network one of the four occupants is the girlfriend of 46-year-old Douglas Ross.  He added investigators quickly learned that Ross was responsible for setting the home on fire.

Ross has been booked into the Terrebonne Parish Prison.  He is facing one count of aggravated arson and four counts of attempted first degree murder.

Duplantis said emotions seem to be the motive behind the blaze.
