You may not of know it exists, but Louisiana's largest pirate festival is just a few weeks away and 100,000 people are expected to come out and walk the plank.

It's the Contraband Days Festival in Lake Charles, and it's also the city's oldest festival.

Living in Shreveport, it's just a short drive down south and man what a festival it is. Here in the great boot state, we celebrate just about anything, for any reason whatsoever, and we always love a good party.

The Contraband Days Festival is right up any Louisianian's alley, so it's no surprise the festival sees 100,000 people per year. This is their 60th year putting on the one-of-a-kind pirate festival, and boast over 100 events throughout the weekend.

This year's festival begins this Thursday, May 4th, and runs until Sunday, May 7th.
