The first reaction was shock, then everyone took a minute to listen, now everyone's angry...everyone but the Florida Gators.

It's understandable that the Florida vs. LSU game scheduled for today couldn't happen as planned. With the reallocation of resources needed when a hurricane is bearing down on you, it'd be impossible to host this game in Florida.

But according to all reports, EVERY option was on the table. From the SEC to LSU, everyone was trying to make something happen. But it seems like it Florida was set against the game being played at all. But why would they treat this like such a gift? With the nugget that LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva dropped Friday, we might know that answer now. Here's more from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"No LSU game on Saturday because of Hurricane Matthew. Tigers Athletic Director Joe Alleva says every attempt was made to play the Florida Gators. He says they offered to play it as late as Monday or charter a plane to bring Florida to Baton Rouge. College football reporter Stewart Mandel of Fox Sports says Florida and the SEC should have definitely handled this situation better.
Alleva says it’s unlikely the game will be made up. Which means, if the Tigers win the rest of their games, they might not make the SEC Championship game, because they would have played one less game. Interm Head Coach Ed Orgeron says his team can’t worry about that now.
LSU’s next game is Octobert 15th at home against Southern Miss."

So there it is, even if LSU wins out, they may STILL be outside of the SEC Championship Game. Unless the SEC steps in to find a way to make this game happen, on a Tuesday or Thursday, or something else that would be incredibly inconvenient, sounds like this is a lost cause.
