The Super Regional game between LSU and Mississippi did not wrap up until early Monday morning, but the LSU Tigers get the win and earn a trip to the College World Series.

Senior Kramer Robertson had three hits to help the Tigers clinch its 18th College World Series berth with a 14-4 victory over Mississippi State in the NCAA tournament’s Baton Rouge super regional.

LSU (48-17) has won 16 straight games and grabbed control of this one in the 5th inning scoring 6 runs in that inning to take a lead and never look back.

Rain delayed the start of the game and interrupted play twice more before it ended at 1:36 a.m. local time.
Robertson and fellow seniors Greg Deichmann and Cole Freeman were subbed out of the game in the bottom of the ninth to get a final cheer from the home crowd at Alex Box Stadium. Tears were flowing throughout the complex as this trio hugged it out with all the guys in the dugout. Senior closer Hunter Newman finished off the victory for the Tigers and earned his spot at the bottom of the dog pile at the end of the game.
