It wasn't a wardrobe malfunction, but it was the next best thing.

M.I.A. was one of Madonna's guests during her performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" during the Super Bowl halftime show, when toward the end of her verse, the British rapper appeared to sing "I don't give a (expletive)" and proceeded to raise her middle finger to the camera.

In a statement, NBC spokesman Christopher McCloskey said, "The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers."

Other artists performing at the halftime show included Cee-Lo, LMFAO and Nicki Minaj.
