The Krewe of Sobek is celebrating Mardi Gras this weekend with their Grand Bal Friday night and their parade this Saturday!
This year’s bal theme is ‘Under the Big Top’ and it will take place at the Shreveport Convention Center Friday, January 17th. Doors open at 6pm and the royal tableau will begin at 8pm. Make sure to get there before tableau as there will be no admittance during the program. Tickets are $60.00 and the attire is black tie. To find out more about how to get your tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Krewe of Sobek parade is Saturday at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds. Line up will begin at 11am and the parade rolls at 1pm! Get ready to catch some beads and enjoy some great entertainment!
Much like other krewes in the Ark-La-Tex, Sobek is centered on service to the community.
The Krewe of Sobek is dedicated to bringing the time-honored traditions and experience of Mardi Gras to the inner city. We are a non-profit, social and charitable organization founded in April 2003. The Krewe’s goals are to support organizations that provide a helpful hand to those in need within our community. Also, to provide fellowship among the members and the community, take part in charitable and non-political civic causes and participate in various parades and celebrations in the Louisiana area.
We hope to see you at both the Krewe of Sobek bal and parade this weekend. We will be on hand for both and will be posting pictures so make sure to check back! We’ll also have members on the air later this week so make sure you’re listening!
