The Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit has shut down a major marijuana growing operation on Roy Road in Caddo Parish.

Shreveport deputy city marshals were at the house to serve an unrelated arrest warrant to one of the residents. What they found was something bigger...21 pounds of processed marijuana and a hydraulic press machine used to compress the drugs into bricks.

Agents, aided by the Shreveport City Marshal's Office, Caddo and Shreveport K-9 Units, and Caddo deputies on ATVs, searched the 100-acre property and found about 60 mature pot plants and evidence of hundreds more that had already been harvested. They believe the operation had been going for quite some time.

Value of the drugs seized was $82,000, and the marijuana harvested was valued at over $250,000. The investigation continues. No word on any arrests so far.
